Research Grants Management

At UCSF, we are building an enterprise-wide solution to modernize and streamline our operations across all of UCSF.

Our new system will provide integrated solutions for Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Research Grants Management, and a Student Information System.

At a fundamental level, Project One supports our expansive and diverse UCSF community as we align and work together to advance the future of work at UCSF.

Research Grants Management

Research and Grants Management processes will be included as part of the overall finance transformation and will span several modules. Many of the post-award research and grants management processes, such as Award & Grant Setup, Budget Setup & Modifications, Outgoing Subaward Setup and Invoicing, Billing, and Accounts Receivable, will be carried over from the current PeopleSoft system into the new Oracle Cloud solution.  With the transition of our Research and Grants Management processes into Oracle Cloud, UCSF aims to enable more efficient business processes, maintain internal controls, and meet sponsor regulations.

To prepare us for this transformation, the Project One team has collaborated with over 50 subject matter experts responsible for research administration from across UCSF to document the current state post-award processes, identify pain points, and design recommended processes for the future state.

Currently, the new Research and Grants Management processes within Project One are expected to go live in July 2027 for UCSF Campus.
